Montour High School Leo Club

2022-2023 Montour High School Leo Club

People in the Robinson Township and surrounding community are very familiar with the Robinson Lions Club, the Montour High School Leo Club is the high school student version of the club and is mentored by members of the Robinson Lions Club and their facility sponsor, Blake Suehr. The club has 43 current members. The 2022-23 Montour Leo officers are Alonzo Labrie (President), Mia Arndt (Vice President), Gia Labrie (Secretary), Kaitlyn Molitoris (Recording Secretary), and James Hazard (Treasurer). The Montour Leo Club serves the community by running fundraisers and participating in community service events in and out of school. So far this year, the Leos have done multiple things for the community, including participating in the Light the Night Walk/Run benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, DEW Middle School Adopt-A-Family, making get well cards for Damar Hamlin. The Leo Club also teamed up with Montour’s Interact Club and held a food drive to help stock Montour’s Classroom Cupboard, a food bank that helps families in the district.  The Leo Club was a major contributor to the David E Williams Middle School Student Council Adopt-A-Family project which provides Christmas gifts for children of families in the district that are in need of assistance. To raise money to buy gifts, the Leo Club hosted a bake sale at the school and also ran a 50/50 ticket raffle during the NHS Powderpuff Football Game. The club raised over $1,100 total! This wasn’t all they did for Adopt-A-Family. The Leo officers shopped for the Christmas gifts and then also spent time wrapping the gifts. The Leos’ current projects are a school supply drive for Stowe Rocks Elementary School and also helping the Lions Club with their Annual Bag & Broom Sale. The Leo Club looks forward to working on more events and fundraisers throughout the remainder of the school year.
